The TOEFL changed in January 2026. Most prep didn't.

New task types, 1–6 bands instead of 0–120, adaptive, about two hours. Old courses and textbooks teach a test that no longer exists.

Before you ask

The usual doubts, answered

What does the free diagnostic include?

Short forms of the real 2026 tasks in all four sections — Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing — in about 10 minutes. You get an estimated band for each section, your weakest task types, and a study plan built from your result. No signup form, and you see your result before paying anything.

What changed in the 2026 TOEFL iBT?

The redesign took effect in January 2026. The test is adaptive, about two hours long, with new task types like Listen-and-Repeat, Interview, Build-a-Sentence, Email, and Complete-the-Words. Scoring moved from the old 0–120 scale to a 1–6 band per section, with your overall score the average of the four.

How is the 2026 TOEFL scored?

Each section — Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing — gets a band from 1 to 6. Your overall score is the average of the four, rounded to the nearest half band. On the old scale, an overall Band 5.5 compares to roughly 110+.

Is the AI grading for Speaking and Writing accurate?

Your responses are graded against the published TOEFL band descriptors for the 2026 exam, with per-criterion reasoning — grammar, vocabulary, coherence, task fulfilment — so you can see exactly what to fix to move up a band.

Does the practice content match the real exam?

Every set follows the 2026 TOEFL specification: the same task types, timings, question counts, and 1–6 band scoring — including the new adaptive Speaking interview and Build-a-Sentence tasks.

How much does it cost?

The diagnostic is free. Full access is $14.90 for 1 week, $74.90 every 3 months, or $99.90 for a year, with unlimited mock tests and unlimited AI grading on every plan. Plans renew automatically; you can cancel anytime and keep access until the end of the period you paid for.

How long should I study before the exam?

Most test-takers need two to six weeks of focused practice, depending on their starting band. The diagnostic tells you where you are today; the study plan then targets your weakest sections until your test date.
