## The New Email Task

As part of the 2026 redesign, the TOEFL introduced the Email Writing task to better reflect modern communication. You will be given a scenario—such as requesting an extension from a professor or organizing a group project with classmates—and you must draft an appropriate email.

## Scoring Criteria

- **Task Fulfillment:** Did you address all the bullet points in the prompt?

- **Tone and Register:** Is your tone appropriate for the recipient? (e.g., formal for a professor, semi-formal for a classmate).

- **Language Use:** Are your grammar and vocabulary accurate and varied?
